The van has averaged right around 8200 miles per year, that's really good considering most average drivers put 12000-15000 miles per year on a vehicle. Within the last couple days I had the car inspected by a ASE certified repair facility. He inspected it and told me its a very solid vehicle. He put it up on the lift and inspected the undercarriage (bottom of engine and transmission) and there was no fluid leaks. He checked the fluid level and condition of the transmission & rear differential and they were both full and clean. He took it for a test drive and the engine & transmission operates without any issues. He replace the engine oil & filter, turned the front rotors all other maintenance was up to date. There are no mechanical issues with the vehicle so I am including a nation wide warranty through a warranty company at no additional cost ( $0 deductible ). Mechanically I personally drive all the vehicles I sell for a few days before I get them serviced and put up for sale. I like doing this because it gives me a good idea on how the vehicle runs and drives. I drove this van over the weekend and put around 40 miles on and it. It drives great on the highway and does great in town as well. The engine does not make any abnormal noises, no ticking or knocking. It starts right up every morning and idles very smooth when in park. The van accelerates without any hesitation or jerking and the transmission shifts smooth through all gears with no issues, it doesn't "clunk" or shift in to gear hard. At highway speeds the van feels solid and not all over the road. There are no steering wheel vibrations at highway speeds. Highway passing gear is also great with no abnormal "clunk" or hesitation. There are no issues with the van at all and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it to Florida and back. A lot of these have north of 180.000 miles and are still in great running condition, I have personally seen them in the 200.000 miles range still running great. A good friend of mine had a 1997 Chevy Astrovan (same as the GMC Safari) with 220,000 miles still running great. This one has has right around 90,000 miles so it still has a lot of life left. The 4.3L Vortec V6 in the van is a well known engine in the GM line-up, they have had the engine around for close to 20 years. They put this engine in Astro vans, Safari vans, Sonoma trucks, Silverado 1/2 ton work trucks, Sierra 1/2 ton work trucks and some of their other small size GM vehicles. GM even puts the same exact engine in some of the 2010 Chevy and GMC light duty work truck with the V6 option. Electrical The AC and heat works great, cruise works just like it should, power driver seat works, power windows work, power door locks work, rear air works and so does the radio. Exterior The Safari was very well cared for by the previous owner and it definitely shows. The over all paint condition is in great condition with no clear coat or rust issues. The van has averaged right around 3,400 miles per year, that's really good considering most average drivers put 15,000 miles per year on a vehicle. Most of these vans have well over 100,000 miles because they are great vacation vehicles. Mechanically the van runs excellent. It starts right up and idles smooth when in park. The van accelerates without any hesitation and the engine does not make any abnormal noises during acceleration. The transmission shifts smooth through all the gears and the steering feels very good with no unusual play at parking lot speeds. It drives straight at highway speeds ( 65-70 mph ) with no vibrations in the steering wheel or abnormal noises. This is a well kept vehicle and i wouldn't hesitate to drive it to florida and back. Within the last 10 miles i had it fully inspected & serviced. The mechanic inspected the undercarriage and there were no leaks, he replaced the oil & filter and all other maintenance was up to date. The van also comes with a nationwide warranty at no cost. The ac is very cold and heat works great, both power seats work, both heated seats work, rear air works, tv and vcr works, cruise works just like it should, power windows work, power door locks work, power mirrors work and so does the radio. All electrical options work just like they should. It also has a hookup for a dvd player. The van was very well cared for by the previous owner and it definitely shows. It was more then likely garage kept because the paint looks great with a nice deep gloss. The interior is very clean with no unusual stains on the leather seats or carpet.
